An exquisitely carved 1920's George II style highboy with scrolled cornice terminating in pinwheel-carved rosettes above six drawers. An ornamental apron sits on carved cabriole legs with scrolled returns ending in hairy paw feet. The wood appears to be mahogany.
Overall in very good condition. Missing one brass handle. Minor chip on left side near lower front corner. Light scratches above upper left drawer and on and above second drawer from top. Cracked varnish at top.
On the back: "42089", "THS" inside a circle, "5384"
A remarkable piece of furniture.
